Darling=Hammond is the premier scholar in education especially on discussions of teachers in the classrooms. Powerful Teacher Education is a book for any teacher who needs a better understanding of the subtle differences in learning styles of urban students. Her work has been successfully utilized by colleges and universities of education throughout the U.S. Finally, as a doctoral student in education, my dissertaion is richer through the use of her references. A must read for all who are serious about edcation.

This is a great book to get information in making your teaching career insightful. Darling-Hammond does a great job in researching schools that are actually producing “teachers as they should be.” The information in this book can be weighted amongst the other great education researchers.
